Le Petit Verdot on Cherche Midi in St Germain des Pres district

Le Petit Verdo Posted by Hello

I'm back . . .

Wow, it's now March and it's my first chance to get back to here.

It's been too crazy for words, just trying like hell to keep up with everything and everything encompasses so very much.

Bottom line . . . I'm returning to Paris (the reason this blog came into existence)for only one week but it will be some kind of week.

I'm leaving on Sunday March 27th (Easter) and returning the following Sunday. I got a great deal on France Vacations through Travel Zoo that I just couldn't pass up. Besides, I left my heart back there and I really need to visit it again.

Montparnasse will be where my hotel is -- this area was home to Modigliani and other artists, writers and the like who are now big names in history books. Hope it rubs off just a little -- well at least inspire me to finally finish the script that has been my shadow for the past several years. Amazing, while in Paris, the words flow effortlessly.

Decided I will finally try to tackle a portion of the Louvre (have been too intimidated to go on prior trips). This is partially due to The DaVinci Code (illustrated version). Very cool book -- would love to believe it to be true.

Must return to Laduree for the atmosphere and those amazing macaroons, revisit the D'Orsay so I can figure out what pictures I took last time that I can't identify the artist or title, go back to the Eiffel Tower and hope the line is not a mile long, go back to Montmartre to see the places I missed the last time and return to my favorite restaurant -- Le Petit Verdot.

New stuff on the list, try a few new tea salons, discover more great restaurants and cafes, visit Rodin, Delacroix, Marmotton, Picasso and a few other museums -- depends on how fast I'll get museumed out. If I get the courage to go it alone or find someone to go with me to a jazz cave to listen to music. Visit districts I didn't have a chance to see last time, purchase tea for my next tea party and cheese to savor, visit Pere Lachaise Cemetery to say hi to Oscar Wilde, Chopin and Jim Morrison and leave a flower or two as a thank you for what they have left behind. Then based on the weather, spend some time in several gardens around Paris.

Walking is also a major benefit. Love to walk in spite of the fact that my feet whined a lot -- I guess walking 8 to 14 hours a day can be a little rough on the feet of an American who mostly sits in a car in heavy traffic far too much of the day back home. Even taking the metro is good. Since I'll be staying further out from the center of Paris, I'll probably be using it more for long distance travel.

Must go and prepare ... later.
